In/Outdoor Organic Solar Cells with Effective Photon‐Harvesting by Introducing Light‐Amplification Layer with Eco‐Friendly QDs

Quantum dot organic solar cells (QD-OSCs) have received considerable attention because of the luminescent property QDs and good miscibility due to ligand in shell. However, use Cd- or Pb-based is limited toxicity. Hence, Zn–Cu–In–S/ZnS (ZQs) as nontoxic are used this study for light-amplification layer (LAL), consisting sub-donor (sub-D, D18-Cl) QDs. The LAL applied between hole transfer (HTL) bulk heterojunction (BHJ, PM6:BTP-eC9), ensurs effective photon amplification high morphological stability. In particular, ligands ZQs constituting interact with D18-Cl PM6:BTP-eC9 align molecular orientation improve interface contact. sub-D/BHJ structure which sub-D BHJ introduced by layer-by-layer (LBL) coating method solves problems such morphology degradation stability complexity existing ternary system. sub-D/BHJ, an structure, shows a higher performance (17.06%) than system (16.66%). Meanwhile, LAL/BHJ not only highest 17.6% but also outstanding (93.6% after 1000 h). This demonstrates energy harvesting through introduces optimal QD-OSCs strategy high-efficiency, high-stability OSCs.
